It was a privilege to attend the (virtual) opening of the Centre for Energy Transition at the University of Aberdeen. The Centre will take the University’s already excellent research and innovation capacity and work with governments, companies, and local communities to help the North East embrace the opportunities which lie ahead in a low carbon future.
I was also pleased to submit a motion in the Scottish Parliament recognising this significant achievement. We need to work with the industry, not against it, to protect existing jobs and create new ones during the energy transition.
