Murder victim’s partner demands answers over killer’s curfew breach

The Scottish Sun report how serial killer James Wright disabled his electronic tag to then go on to kill Craig McClelland, a husband and father of three. Wright has now been jailed for a minimum of 20 years.

Commenting, Liam said: “This case is so appalling even the judge seems to have been lost for words as to why he was allowed to commit this crime.

“The victim’s family will be furious at the circumstances that enabled this to happen. Here’s a dangerous individual, released virtually negligently early from his sentence, and then trusted to go about his business. Now a man has paid for this ineptitude with his life.

“The SNP’s drive to empty prisons is letting dangerous offenders off the hook and, so long as this continues, more incidents like this will occur. That attitude sets a tone for the justice system and it’s letting people and communities down.”
