Stonehaven twinning with Acheres, France

The Mearns Leader report on the ongoing efforts to twin Stonehaven with the French town of Acheres. As a stepping stone towards the signing, a French Breakfast Briefing will be held in Stonehaven later this month. It will take place in Molly’s Cafe Bar on the promenade on Friday, April 20.

Nearly 90% of all bike thefts go unresolved

The Sunday Post report on figures revealed by the Scottish Conservatives through an FOI request to Police Scotland that show in the 10 months to 31 January 2018 there were 5,394 recorded crimes for bike thefts.

Children as young as 8 caught housebreaking

The Scottish Sun report on figures released from the Scottish Children's Reporter Administration that show more than 500 kids as young as eight have been accused of housebreaking in the past three years. There have been around 190 referrals a year since 2014-15 for under 18s.

Illicit devices seized at HMP Grampian

The Press and Journal report on new figures that show 114 illicit devices have been seized from prisoners at HMP Grampian since it opened four years ago.

Views sought on emergency services

The Scottish Parliament's Justice Committee, which I am a member of, is calling for views on the legislation that created Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
